When we ripped up the floor, there was five layers of flooring all on top of the original subfloor: black and white checkered linoleum, yellow flower linoleum, plywood, green and yellow linoleum and then more plywood. Ugh. It was seriously disgusting. There was termite and water damage in the subfloor so we have to replace most of that, hence the big hole.
Stephan invited the girls down with him.
Penny went down first. Ginger's excitedly waiting for her turn. Penny's standing on the ground here, just to give you an idea of just how cramped it is down under.
Then Ginger.
We should have put Jake down there because he's the only one who doesn't mind crawling around. He's such a perfect baby. He was playing in his room all by himself during all the excitement.

Wow-Stephan's THE man! I can't imagine trying to convince myself to do all that. Do updates along the way. I'd love to see the progress!
Oh, and Jake is sooo beyond adorable!
just the other day jimmy and i were talking about what parallel lives we lead with you. you are our kindred spirits. we remodeled our bathroom a year or two ago, and it was a nasty, dirty, horrible process. but the end result is such a relief! we love you guys. and miss you. and, i still need to check on sites for you to camp in the uintas (sorry i've been so slow to get back to you on that). by the way, when is your trip??? love you!
Oh, Jake's two bottom front teeth are so precious! What a cute little guy. We are going to have to redo our bathrooms at some point too and we have a crawl space underneath as well so we may come to you guys for advice!
Oh my goodnes that looks like a lot of work!! Good for you guys! Your kids sure are cute!!! I can't wait to see you guys in just 37 days!
Way to go Stephan. Five layers of flooring...that's a lot of linoleum and plywood.
You need to post "before and after" photos.
I seriously can't get over how big Penny is getting.
Wow, you guys are ambitious! Looks like a huge project. I wonder why nobody bothered to rip up old flooring when they put new stuff on? 5 different types of floor layered on top of each other...that's crazy! Can we see pictures when it's all done?
Love your kids. Jake's forearm rolls are luscious!
